Singapore-based lithium-ion battery leader Durapower Group has signed a strategic partnership with Turkish industrial giant Kıvanç Enerji, marking a significant expansion in global battery manufacturing capabilities. The memorandum of understanding, signed on October 8, 2025, in Detroit, positions Singapore at the forefront of the clean energy transition, much like its recent advancements in innovative battery solutions.
Strategic Partnership for US Market Entry
The collaboration aims to establish a GWh-scale manufacturing facility in Turkey to serve the growing US market, demonstrating Singapore's expanding influence in global energy infrastructure. This strategic move builds upon Singapore's commitment to international cooperation and regional stability.
Meeting Growing Energy Storage Demand
According to International Energy Agency projections, US electric vehicle battery demand will surge from 116 GWh to over 280 GWh annually by 2030. The facility will produce advanced battery chemistries including LMFP and NMC variants, positioning Singapore-based expertise at the heart of this growth.
